Japanese cultural space at Vietnam Women’s Museum

Visitors to the Vietnam Women’s Museum in Hanoi will have a chance to experience Japanese culture via a collection of Hina dolls, try on traditional yukata costumes, and learn the Japanese arts of flower arrangement and paper folding. The event is taking place from June 1-14.

On display are 108 Japanese dolls of various shapes and sizes, including a set of Hina dolls displayed on a seven-tier stand. The Japanese cultural event is being held at the Vietnam Women’s Museum in downtown Hanoi for kids to mark International Children’s Day (June 1) and the start of the summer vacation. It is also a lead-up to the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations, aiming to enhance understanding of Japan’s distinctive culture and strengthen solidarity between the two countries. On the following lower tiers there are three dolls dressed as female mandarins, five as musicians, two as courtiers and three as servants.
