Japan’s leading pianist to perform in Hanoi

Prominent Japan pianist Michie Koyama will make a performance at Hanoi Opera House together with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Honna Tetsuji.
Prominent Japan pianist Michie Koyama will make a performance at Hanoi Opera House together with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Honna Tetsuji.

Playing the piano since the age of five, Michie Koyama was the first Japanese to have won prizes at the world’s most prestigious piano contests. She won the third place at the 7 th Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in 1982, followed by a 4 th place award in the 1985 Chopin International Piano Competition. She has gained reputation all over the world and been considered to be one of the most renowned pianists in Japan .

Her Hanoi performance is part of a music project since 2009 by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra in which world famous solo pianists will be invited to perform Beethoven’s nine symphonic masterpieces./.
