The screening was held by the Vietnamese Union of Friendship Organisations’ Committee for Vietnamese Solidarity with the Palestinian people in collaboration with the Palestinian Embassy in Vietnam .

The documentary “Doi mat To quoc” (Eyes on the Motherland) is the only joint effort between Vietnamese Documentary Films and Palestinian film makers since 1981, said Ambassador Saadi Salama.

The short film looks at the real lives of Palestinian people, who have had to live in refugee camps abroad but still have a great desire to return to their homeland, he added.

Before the screening, the Chairman of the committee for Vietnamese solidarity with the Palestinian people Ho Anh Dung and Ambassador Saadi Salama reviewed the special solidarity shown between the two peoples.

The recent visit to Vietnam by President Mahmoud Abbas underlines the traditional friendship and is a milestone in the development of relations between both countries, they stated./.
