Sixteen groups on June 22 performed their version of songs and dances of famous Korean stars and bands such as Psy, The Shadow, Panaroma Crew, and D.O.D. Their performances were not only perfect imitations of these famous bands but were also creative and entertaining.

The programme also featured performances by 2007 Vietnam Idol Phuong Vy and the Cover Dance group from the Republic of Korea.

This was the first ever event held by the K-pop Fanclub in Vietnam and was sponsored by the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam, Korean Tourism organisation Hanoi office, the Korea Agricultural Promotion Centre and the K-pop organising board from Gangwon, Korea to look for the best K-pop Cover group for the K-pop Festival in 2013 in Gangwon city.

Apart from the K-pop Cover contest, the K-pop fanclub festival also includes various activities such as exhibition and a fair displaying product made by fans themselves to express their sentiments towards their favourite artists.

The Shadow dance group won the first prize to join other 15 groups from countries for K-pop Festival 2013 in Gangwon.

The organising board also presented the first prize of fanclubs’ exhibition booths to YG Family.

Director of the Korean Cultural Centre Park Nark Jong said they will organise such an event annually to build up a sound community of K-pop fans and provide a chance for them to understand more about the culture, tourism and gastronomy of Korea.-VNA
