Kelly Trang Tran, who was crowned Mrs Vietnam – Los Angeles 2009 (Source: thanhnien.vn) Hanoi (VNA) - Kelly Trang Tran, who was crowned Mrs Vietnam – Los Angeles 2009 and Mrs Vietnam World 2015, will be Vietnam's representative at the Mrs World 2016 contest.
The beauty contest is taking place in Dongguan, China, from March 1 to 12.
Kelly Trang Tran has reached China vie at the competition, which gathers more than 40 contestants from across the world.
She said she would try her best to reach the highest position in the contest.
In previous years, Vietnam's representatives at the Mrs World contest were selected from within the country. However, the organisation board this year has directly invited Kelly Trang Tran as the representative of the country.
Kelly said such a direct invitation was aimed at providing an opportunity to Vietnamese contestants from across the world, and not just in Vietnam, to participate in the beauty contest.
Kelly Trang Tran – her real name being Tran Thi Diem Trang – was born in Vietnam in 1980. She moved to Nevada in the United States in 1993 and lives here.
Kelly's past pageant titles include Mrs Alhambra International, Mrs Vietnam – Los Angeles, 3rd Runner Up at Mrs Asia USA and 1st Runner Up at Mrs Vietnam Global, as well as Ms Nevada Woman of Achievement and Ms United States America International 2014. She currently holds the title of Mrs Vietnam World 2015.-VNA
