The World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) and the Rainbow International Co. Ltd. on Feb. 6 signed an agreement on the organisation of the eighth stage of this year’s tour in Nha Trang bay of the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa.
This is the first time Vietnam is featured in the sailing championship which will be part of a series of events to mark the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Twelve teams are to compete in this year’s competition, which will begin in France in April and then travel to Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, the US, Portugal, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Vietnam and Malaysia.
WMRT President Peter Gilmour said that with an expected 1 billion viewers through live broadcast in more than 100 countries, the hosting of the race is expected to promote the image of beautiful Nha Trang bay to the world.
Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee Le Xuan Than promised to create all favourable conditions for the success of the event./.
