Lao Party General Secretary, State President congratulates Vietnamese counterpart

General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith on August 3 sent a letter of congratulations to State President To Lam on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.

Hanoi (VNA) - General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith on August 3 sent a letter of congratulations to State President To Lam on his election as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.

The Vietnam News Agency respectfully introduces the translation of the congratulatory letter:

Dear beloved comrade To Lam,

On behalf of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and myself, I am honoured and delighted to extend the warmest congratulations to Comrade on your election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam at the meeting of the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on August 3.

Your election to this important position reflects the trust and high appreciation that the Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam have in your capabilities, abundant experience, and outstanding achievements in the leadership and direction over the past time.

I firmly believe that under the correct, sound, and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by Comrade, the brotherly Vietnamese people will continue to achieve even greater accomplishments in the cause of renewal, successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and fulfill the goal of building Vietnam into a modernity-oriented industrialised country with a rich people, strong nation, just, democratic, and civilised society and ultimately becoming a socialist-orientated developed country.
