Hanoi (VNA) - Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith has urged ministries to remove any unnecessary barriers to improve the investment environment and attract more capital from investors both in and outside the country.

Addressing the 10th Lao Business Forum in Vientiane, PM Sisoulith said the government is striving to create a favourable business environment and simplify procedures that hinder the operations of both domestic and foreign enterprises.

The PM noted that Laos is facing various challenges and obstacles, resulting in slow change and ineffective promotion of a suitable business environment, saying it was deterring foreign investors.

These difficult issues could be discussed at the government’s monthly meetings to seek appropriate solutions, he added.

For her part, Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce Khemmani Pholsena said that the improvement of legal and regulatory environment was a prerequisite for the growth of private enterprises.-VNA
