An exhibition showcasing Laos’ handicraft products opened in Vientiane on October 13 in the presence of Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong.
The exhibition, the 13th of its kind, offers a chance for localities and businesses in Laos to advertise their potential and strengths in the field.
It features more than 300 booths where a wide range of products including wooden furniture, brocades, rattan and jewelry are displayed.
Apart from the exhibition, a workshop aimed at seeking investment for local small- and medium-sized enterprises will be organised.
The events, jointly held by the Lao Fine Arts Association and the Lao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are part of activities to celebrate the 60th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and to prepare for the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.-VNA
