The agreement was reached at a meeting between the two Prime Ministers onAugust 12 at the Lao Prime Minister Office in Vientiane, according to the Laostate-run news agency KPL.
Speaking at a joint press conference after the meeting, the Lao PM said they agreedthat the Lao side will to pull back the remaining troops in the disputed borderarea and Cambodia will stop building a road at that area, making the situationreturn to normalcy and restoring belief of the two countries’ people.
The border committees and foreign ministries ofthe two countries will continue to have talks to seek solutions to issuesrelating to border areas where border markers have yet to be planted, as soonas possible.
The two leaders also concurred to continuecreating incentives for discussion between two sides when problems arise.-VNA
