Vientiane (VNA) – The Lao Ministry of Health on November 22 reported 999 new cases of COVID-19, and a death due to the pandemic.
Among the latest infections, four were imported and quarantined right upon their arrival. The remaining cases were detected in 17 cities and provinces in the country.
The Lao capital city of Vientiane continued to be the pandemic hotspot with the daily tally reaching 407.
The latest infections have raised the country’s caseload to 63,159, with 133 fatalities.
The Lao government has asked business facilities nationwide to close operations and conduct necessary pandemic prevention and control measures once they find infections among their staff members.
Lao localities were urged to prepare human resources, equipment and budget to serve the expansion of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout./.
