Laos and Indonesia have agreed to enhance their bilateral cooperation and work closely with other Southeast Asian countries to create the ASEAN Economic Community by 2015.
These pledges were made at the fourth meeting of the Lao-Indonesian Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation, hosted by Laos on July 11
The Indonesian delegation to the meeting was led by Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa.
The two sides reviewed the progress made since their previous meeting and applauded the development of friendship and cooperation since then.
They also briefed each other on their respective socio-economic development and discussed regional and international situations of mutual concern.
Both sides promised to keep supporting each other at regional and international forums for their common benefits.
During the visit, the Indonesia delegation was received by Laos’ Vice President Bounnhang Vorachit.-VNA
