The 35th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) will be held in the Lao capital city of Vientiane from September 14-20.
The event will welcome 350-400 representatives from 10 ASEAN member countries, observer states and international organisations, Laos’ national steering committee on the organisation of the 35th AIPA General Assembly said at an international press conference on July 11.
It will cover two plenary sessions and four sessions of AIPA committees on political, economic, social and organisational affairs. The AIPA will also hold dialogue sessions with its observer states.
A joint statement is expected to be adopted at the end of the event.
The previous AIPA General Assembly was organised in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.-VNA
