Accordingly, Governor of Bokeo province Khammanh Sounvileuth is set to fill the vacancy of Minister of Home Affairs, left by former Minister Xaysi Santivong who will assume another post.
Luang Prabang Governor Khampheng Saysompheng will become Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, replacing retiring minister Onechanh Thammavong.
The retirement of Minister to the President’s Office Phongsavath Boupha will lead to his role being occupied by outgoing governor of Vientiane province Khammeung Phongthady.
Minister for the Government’s Office Sommad Pholsena will replace retiring Noulinh Sinbandhit as Minister of Natural Resources.
National executive changes also include the promotion of Phet Phomphiphak to the position of Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. Acting minister of Public Security Brigadier Somkeo Silavong will take on the full role of Minister.
This is the largest reform of the Lao cabinet since 2011.-VNA
