Magnus Carlsen of Norway topped the world rankings with an Elo rating of 2,837, followed by Armenia's Levon Aronian, with an Elo of 2,816.
Meanwhile, in the women's rankings, Pham Le Thao Nguyen moved up 13 steps, ranking 71st with an Elo rating of 2,393. Nguyen's former Elo rating was 2,378.
