A trans-national broadcast linking Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) will air at 9:30PM on VTV1 channel on November 13, as part of activities to celebrate the 20 th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
Jointly organised by the Vietnam Television and the Korean Broadcast Station, the programme will provide audiences with an insight into similarities of the two nations’ cultures via cuisine, music and movies.
The Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK and the RoK Ambassador to Vietnam will join the programme.
Doan Ngoc Tram, mother of Vietnamese fallen soldier Dang Thuy Tram whose moving diary has touched the heart of many Koreans, and SNSD, one of the most celebrated girl band in the RoK will also turn up at the event.
During Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to the RoK in March this year, Vietnam and the RoK agreed to continue to maintain and increase visits and exchanges between high-ranking leaders of the two countries in different forms.
The two sides reaffirmed the determination to soon fulfill the target of raising two-way trade turnover to 20 billion USD prior to 2015 and 30 billion USD in the future.
In 2011, two-way trade between the two countries reached 18 billion USD.
The RoK is the second biggest overseas investor in Vietnam . By September 2012, it had injected in excess of 24 billion USD into over 3,000 projects in the Southeast Asian country. It is a major ODA provider for Vietnam.-VNA
