Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam will send morethan 470 athletes to compete at the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games inMalaysia in August.

The athletes will be supported by morethan 200 coaches, experts and doctors together with thousands of supportersfrom Vietnam, said Tran Duc Phan, deputy head of the Vietnam SportAdministration.

At the coming games, Vietnamese competitors will take part in 32 out of 38sports. They will meet about 6,000 athletes from 10 other countries in theregion.

The send-off ceremony willbe held on August 8 with the destination to be confirmed later.

The games, ASEAN’s most important sporting festival, will be held from August19-30.

At the previous games in Singapore twoyears ago, Vietnam finished third with 73 gold medals, after Thailand with 95 golds and the hosts  with 84 golds.-VNA

VIRESA, FPT Online, Funtap cooperate to develop e-sport

Ha Long city gears up for festival-filled holidays

Ahead of the main celebration, the city will host various events starting April 29, including temple festivals, a lion dance showcase, culinary events such as the Beer and Grilled Squid Festival, and the 2025 Quang Ninh OCOP Summer Fair.
