Logo design contest aims to promote Vietnamese rice trademark

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on April 26 launched a logo design contest for Vietnamese rice trademark, aiming to promote the national rice reputation.

HCM City (VNA) – The Ministry of Agriculture andRural Development (MARD) on April 26 launched a logo design contest forVietnamese rice trademark, aiming to promote the national rice reputation.

According to MARD Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam, the logomust reflect the culture, history and tradition of Vietnam’s rice production,while showing quality and commitments of the country to the rice products withnational trademark.

This is part of activities to realise the project to developVietnam’s rice brand to 2020 with a vision to 2030, which was approved by thePrime Minister two years ago.

The MARD will choose several enterprises to use the logo andregister intellectual property protection of Vietnamese rice trademark, saidNam.

He underscored that the building of Vietnamese ricetrademark is significant in defining the value and image of Vietnamese riceproducts, enhancing the awareness of domestic and foreign producers, importers,distributors and consumers on Vietnamese rice, thus expanding market, enhancingadded values and competitiveness of Vietnamese rice.

Entries for the contest can be submitted from April 26 toJune 26, while the winner will be announced between September and October thisyear.

The first prize is worth 100 million VND, while fourconsolidation prizes are 15 million VND each.

Regarding the ongoing negotiations on a Reciprocal Trade Agreement between the two countries, he emphasised that Vietnam remains consistent in its approach to the talks with the US, aiming for a bilateral agreement based on respect for sovereignty, independence, political system, harmonisation and balance of interests, as well as in line with international commitments and the development level of each country.
