The Malaysian government has expressed serious concern over ongoing developments in the East Sea while emphasising the need to work toward an early conclusion of a Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).
Addressing the eight ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Myanmar on May 20, Malaysian Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein called on parties to the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) to continue to work towards building confidence, enhancing cooperation, avoiding untoward incidents that could escalate tensions and conflicts.-VNA
