Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysian Minister ofCommunications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil said his country has the potential tobecome the leading digital hub of choice in Southeast Asia for foreigntechnology-based firms.
Speaking at a launching ceremony of smart technologyapplications on March 21, the minister noted Malaysia has previously been apreferred destination for data processing providers because it has a strongcommunication and cyber security infrastructure as well as digitally literatecitizens.
He revealed that the selection by consumer technology company FreeYond, whichis based in Shenzhen, China, of Malaysia as the first place in the region tomarket its product is a positive sign for the country.
According to the minister, the move will not only have an impactin terms of investment, but this will make Malaysia a hub for many othertechnology-based products./.
