Malaysia and Indonesia are striving to seek solutions to boundary issues through existing mechanisms.
Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman told reporters that the two sides agreed upon this matter during his meeting with the visiting Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi on January 26.
The pair asserted that they will discuss in detail issues concerning Indonesia ’s capture of Malaysian fishing vessels, Indonesian labour, and voluntary repatriation of Indonesian workers.
Apart from bilateral collaboration, the two ministers also touched upon regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Anifah Aman informed that Malaysia will host several significant bilateral events this year, including the 14 th Meeting of the Malaysia-Indonesia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC), and an annual consultation between the two nations.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo plans to pay his first official visit to Malaysia on February 5-7 since he took office in October 2014.-VNA
