MITI said thegovernment has received a petition from Perusahaan Sadur Timah MalaysiaBhd on behalf of the domestic industries producing tinplates.
The company claimed the tinplates are being imported into Malaysiaat a much lower price than the price quoted in the domestic market ofthe alleged countries, causing material injury to the domestic industryin Malaysia .
The ministry said the governmenthas conducted and completed an investigation on producers and importersin Malaysia as well as producers and exporters in the allegedcountries.
The scope of product under investigation covers tinplates under the Harmonised System Code 7210.12.200, it said.
The Royal Malaysian Customs will enforce the collection ofanti-dumping duties and this measure will be effective for five yearsfrom November 16, 2013, according to Bernama.-VNA
