Malaysian police have sent photos of the two male suspects behind bombings in Thailand last month, a source from Thai police said on September 20.

One of the two is suspected to be the yellow-shirt bomber responsible for the Erawan shrine blast in Bangkok that killed 20 people. The other could be the man seen wearing a blue-shirt and kicking a device into the Chao Phraya River that blew up under the Sathorn Pier.

According to the source, Thai police will see if the pictures of the two men detained by Malaysia’s Special Branch Police match the characteristics of the men captured on close-circuited TV cameras.

If the suspects are identified as the bombers, Thai police will demand their extradition for prosecution in Thailand, it said.

On September 19, Malaysian police searched several apartments in Kuala Lumpur believed to be the hiding places of the suspected bombers at the request of Thai police.-VNA
