Malaysia, Saudi Arabia cooperate in security

Malaysia and Saudi Arabia on April 19 signed an agreement on security cooperation, according to Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs Hishammuddin Hussein.

Hishammuddin said in astatement after the signing ceremony in the Riyadh capital of SaudiArabia that the agreement would facilitate cooperation between the twocountries and enable them to strengthen efforts to deal withinternational crime, especially terrorism-related and organised crime.

He said that Saudi Arabia 's experience in fightingterrorism threats was something that Malaysia could learn from andthat Malaysia 's success in handling and tackling security threats inthe Association of Southeast Asean Nations (ASEAN) can be also used bySaudi Arabia , especially through intelligence sharing

The agreement is a part of the commitments between the countries tofurther cooperate to resolve security issues, including fightingterrorism, drug and weapon smuggling, money laundering andcounterfeiting./.

Indian airline launches direct Mumbai–Hanoi route

The new route operates four flights a week and is the first direct Mumbai–Hanoi service operated by an Indian airline. Hanoi has become Akasa Air’s seventh international destination and its second destination in Southeast Asia, after Phuket, Thailand.

Indonesia breaks ground on waste-to-energy plant
