Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – More than 64,000 police will be on duty during the upcoming general election in Malaysia.
Director of the Internal Security and Public Order Zulkifli Abdullah revealed that the officers will be deployed throughout the country to ensure the polls are free of incidents.
Apart from polling centres, police will be arranged at different locations, he said.
Nearly 5,000 police volunteers reserve members will be assigned at police stations to perform relevant duties, he added.
Police is also conducting training courses for personnel to serve the generation election, which is scheduled to take place in August 2018.-VNA
