The Malaysian transport ministry will set up an international committee to probe the disappearance of ill-fated Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, its acting Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein told the media on March 29.
He hinted that international aviation and intelligence agencies will also be asked to join the panel that will also review the status of Malaysia's aviation industry.
When questioned about the flight simulator found at the home of MH370 Capt Zaharie Ahmad Shah, he said the US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has found nothing sinister stored within it.
However, he withheld from making further comment on the matter until the findings were corroborated by the police.
On March 30, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced that former Chief of the Defense Force Air Marshal Angus Houston will lead a new Joint Agency Coordination Center (JACC) that will be based in Perth to coordinate the government's support for the search of the flight.
The JACC has been set up to ensure strong liaison among all the relevant stakeholders, including the families of the passengers. The Australian government has already announced that visa fees will be waived for the affected families, Abbot said.-VNA
