Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on May 27 started his six-day official visit to China on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
While in Beijing, the PM is scheduled to have talks with Chinese leaders and attend the anniversary celebrations of the Malaysia-China diplomatic relations on May 31.
The two countries are expected to sign five memoranda of understanding, including documents on denfence, science-technology and trade, during the visit.
PM Najib Razak will hold an economic conference with the participation of Chinese businesses, aiming at boosting cooperation.
Malaysia is China’s largest trade partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for six consecutive years, with two-way trade reaching 106 billion USD in 2013.
In addition, the two countries saw cooperation in education and training with about 10,000 Chinese students in Malaysia and about 6,000 Malaysian students in China.-VNA
