MARD restructuring to bolster agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) on March 16 officially launched three new administrative agencies, namely the General Department of Forestry, Irrigation and Seafood.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy PrimeMinister Nguyen Sinh Hung underlined the importance of MARD’s restructuring,saying that the three areas are of great importance to the whole agriculturalsector.

The three new administrative agencies will be tasked withbuilding and developing the vital field of agricultural production in a morecomprehensive and professional way, he said.

The Deputy PM emphasisedthat the most important task for MARD is to build a modern agriculture industrycapable of mass production and to develop a skilled labour force forit.

Personnel for the three agencies has been put in place with 46 newappointments./.
