A special market introducing traditional cultural values of local ethnic groups is held for the first time in the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien.

Visitors to the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang are not only enchanted by its imposing natural scenery but also by the unique markets, or the kermis, held in the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Due to rapid modernisation, many markets have lost their authenticity, but Bac Ha market in northern mountainous Lao Cai province still retains its identity and uniqueness.
The Culture-Tourism Village for Vietnamese Ethnic Groups on the western outskirts of Hanoi welcomed some 500,000 visitors from the outset of this year, up 20 percent from the same time in 2017, the village’s management board said on December 3.
