“Meet Indonesia” Conference 2024 held in Khanh Hoa

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – The “Meet Indonesia” Conference 2024 took place inNha Trang city, the south central province of Khanh Hoa on March 22.

Co-hosted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the provincialPeople’s Committee and the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam, the event gathered150 Indonesian and 200 Vietnamese delegates to explore economiccooperation opportunities.

In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs NguyenMinh Hang said the event took place at a time when Vietnam and Indonesia recentlycelebrated the 10th anniversary of bilateral strategic partnership lastyear and are looking toward the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties in2025.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee NguyenTan Tuan said Khanh Hoa expects to collaborate with Indonesia in thepriority areas of tourism, hi-tech mechanical engineering (with a focus onshipbuilding), clean and renewable energy, oil and gas processing, electronicsand semiconductor, biotechnology, vaccine production and marinepharmaceuticals, thereby further leveraging its potential and strengths.

Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Denny Abdi pointedto the significant two-way trade of 13.8 billion USD achieved in 2023. He echoedthe leaders' commitment, made during President Joko Widodo's January visit, towork toward becoming high-income nations by 2045.

This vision, he said, could be achievedthrough enhanced economic competitiveness, a healthy investment climate, jointresearch and development, and cooperation in developing value-added products.

The event featured three discussion sessionscovering hi-tech agriculture and aquaculture, digital economy and tourism, andrenewable energy and hi-tech collaboration. Delegates showcased theirrespective countries' strengths in these sectors, and shared policies, development strategiesand experience.

A shared focus on prioritising modern andeco-friendly technology, digital transformation, and cooperation/investment inagriculture, aquaculture, digital economy, renewable energy and hi-techindustries also emerged.

On the occasion, the Khanh Hoa - Indonesia meeting,a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between authorities of Phu Yenprovince and the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, fieldsurveys and bilateral connectivity activities between Vietnamese localities and businesses and their Indonesian partners were also held./.

New charter flights boost Russian tourism to Khanh Hoa

Flight EO3661 operated by IKAR Airlines landed at Cam Ranh International Airport on April 18, carrying 350 Russian tourists from Novy International Airport in Russia. This marks the first charter flight organised by Pegas Misr Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd. to bring Russian tourists back to Khanh Hoa after a long pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
