Mekong delta rice warehouse to be completed in 2013

The construction of a warehouse capable of string of 4 million tonnes of paddy rice in the Mekong delta will be completed by 2013, two years later than scheduled.
The construction of a warehouse capable of string of 4 million tonnes ofpaddy rice in the Mekong delta will be completed by 2013, two yearslater than scheduled.

The Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment announced the delay on August 10, adding the implementationof the plan faced many difficulties.

Under the plan, theconstruction of a storage system with a total capacity of 2.5 milliontonnes of paddy rice and the upgrade of a 0.47 million tonnes systemwill be completed by the end of this year.

Additionally, localenterprises will modernise their repositories to increase thecountry’s storage capacity to 10 million tonnes of paddy rice a year by2015./.
