Music gala to usher in the Year of the Horse

For the New Year countdown, Hanoians will be treated to a lavish music performance that will take place in Cach Mang Thang Tam Square in front of the Hanoi Opera House on December 31.
For the New Year countdown, Hanoians will be treated to a lavish musicperformance that will take place in Cach Mang Thang Tam Square in frontof the Hanoi Opera House on December 31.

The eventwill gather several new artists, including DJ Tenishia – a Maltese DJduo comprised of Joven Grech - and Cyprian Cassar, who were ranked inthe 50 best DJs in the world according to British publication DJ Mag –and the Dutch DJ and music producer Ruben de Ronde.

Leading Vietnamese underground artists, including JustaTee, Big Daddyand Mr A will also hit the stage during the night. The Hanoi-basedRhapsody Philharmonic featuring young music students will be there toadd diversity to the show.

In addition, theperformances will be embellished by a spectacular light show which isexpected to offer audiences a memorable experience. An annual countdownevent organised by Heineken will start at 8pm.

Heineken will hold numerous activities to welcome the New Year 2014 inHanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City from December 27-31, the SaigonTimes Daily has reported.

Specifically, a massivewater show with spectacular lighting and visual activation will takeplace at the Crescent in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7 on December 31.

The space around the symbolic lake will bespecifically designed to host the parties which feature parading iconicfloats representing the five continents of the world. The centre ofthe lake will feature a giant star-shaped stage where the thrillingwater and lighting combined with live DJ music and dance shows are sureto thrill the crowds.

Foreign and local artiststaking part in the show are European DJ Azam, singer Andreea D,violinist Sima, Australian percussionists and acrobats from Cirque andsingers Ho Ngoc Ha, Ha Anh Tuan, Minh Hang, Bao Anh, and Trang Phap.

The main streets of the central city of Da Nang will be lit up fromDecember 27-31 to welcome the New Year. Especially, a giant globesurrounded by a rotating LED screen will be set up on Han River.-VNA
