Vietnam Television will broadcast a music festival on January 30, Lunar New Year's Eve, as part of its annual Tet show.

Don Tet Cung VTV 2014 (Welcome the New Year with VTV) will have the theme Nhung Canh Thu Xuan (Letters of Spring) and carry the message: "Let's share, cherish the love between people and people, family and country, and live with your love."

There will be short clips on other topics between the music and dance performances.

They include a funny and unexpected "message" from fashion designer Minh Hanh to MC Tran Thanh, one from singer My Tam's fan to the programme, several from children describing the future they would like to see, from soldiers stationed on remote islands to their loved ones, and New Year greetings from overseas Vietnamese to viewers.

The programme will be divided into three parts.

The first will be a review of the success, failure, happiness, and sadness of the past year.

It will feature an ao dai fashion show by designer Minh Hanh and a performance by singer Thu Minh with the three dance groups that played a big role in her huge success last year.

The 30-minute second part will feature live reports from various places around the country about how people are counting down the New Year.

The third part will see more music by top singers like Ho Ngoc Ha, Minh Quan, Phuong Vy, and Ngoc Anh.

The programme will be seen in many countries where VTV broadcasts.-VNA
