Myanmar’s Parliament has approved taking out a loan of 400 million USD from the World Bank (WB) to continue projects for rural residents.
The people-centred projects cover services for rural areas, enhancing the capacity of the government staff and early response systems for natural calamities. The project will be conducted in selected townships.
During fiscal year 2013-2014, the projects were implemented in the Chin and Shan townships as well as the Taninthayi region.
One year later, they were expanded to the Rakhine State, the Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyawady Regions and the Nay Pyi Taw Council area.-VNA
