Myanmar ratifies ASEAN terror pact

Myanmar has ratified the ASEAN Convention on Counter-Terrorism (ACCT), the ASEAN Secretariat said on Mar. 5.
Myanmar has ratified the ASEAN Convention on Counter-Terrorism (ACCT), the ASEAN Secretariat said on Mar. 5.

Myanmar sent its ratification to ASEAN Secretary General SurinPitsuwan, becoming the seventh member of the Association of SoutheastAsian Nations (ASEAN) to approve the pact.

Earlier, Singapore , Thailand , Vietnam , the Philippines , Cambodia and Brunei ratified the pact.

Basedon ACCT Article 21, the convention would take effect with the approvalof six member countries, so the ACCT came into effect from May 28, 2011when Brunei, the sixth member, ratified it.-VNA

Thai cabinet approves withdrawal of entertainment complex bill
