The Myanmar Government has established a separate national reformcommittee, led by President U Thein Sein, to direct efforts on reformprogramme for the remaining 30 months of its present five-year term ofoffice, according to news reports.
The country’s official media said that the committee is to replace the project commission that was set up in the past.
Summoning cabinet ministers, deputy ministers and chief ministers ofregion and state governments, U Thein Sein urged to form delivery unitsor task forces and working groups to implement the policies on theground through cooperation and coordination.
He urged all-out efforts to bring about tangible results in the remaining 30 months of its reign.
President U Thein Sein's Government took office on March 30, 2011 after a general election in November 2010.
