NA Chairman attends Vietnam Academy of Finance's anniversary

Hanoi (VNA)– Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue on November 19 attended a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Academy of Finance and handed the Labour Order, first class, to the institution.

Hue hailed generations of the academy’s lecturers, students, and staff for their contributions to the nationalconstruction and protection.

The NA Chairman also urged the academy to master and follow thepolicies of the Party and State, concretising its goals, particularly the goal of turning it into a multi-disciplinary and multi-field university with theorientation of combining basic research, applied research, and technology transfer.

The academy was asked to constantly innovate thinking, bewilling to change to adapt to the requirements of the times, and apply newtechnology, especially digital technology.

It was suggested to develop new training programmes to meet theneeds of the country's socio-economic development.

Hue emphasised that theacademy must become one of the pioneer units in implementing universityautonomy, especially financially.

On this occasion, the academy announced its decision toestablish the Tam-Tai-Chinh Education Development Fund to grant scholarships topoor talented students and support startups and innovations. NA Chairman Huegave the academy 60 computers and teaching equipment and donated 100million VND (4,100 USD) to the fund./.

Dong Thap tightens fishing vessel management

Phu Quoc launches English classes for vendors, drivers ahead of APEC 2027

Under the project “Enhancing foreign language capacity for the community in the 2026–30 period, with a vision to 2045”, recently announced by the Phu Quoc Special Zone authorities, English programmes will be piloted at 10-15 schools across all three education levels from September 2026 to June 2027.

An Giang takes zero-tolerance approach to IUU fishing

Singer, media executive charged over YouTube music copyright infringement

The Investigation Police Agency under the municipal Public Security Department said on August 5 that it had prosecuted and placed in temporary detention Nguyen Thi Hien, owner of the YouTube channel Phuong Diem Huyen, and Nguyen Thanh Hiep, Director of Unicorn Vietnam Media and Entertainment Co., Ltd., for investigation on the charge of infringing copyright and related rights under Article 225 of Vietnam's Penal Code.
