NA Standing Committee convenes 21st session

The 15th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee convened its 21st session in Hanoi on March 15 under the chair of NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

Hanoi (VNA) - The 15th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee convenedits 21st session in Hanoi on March 15 under the chair of NA Chairman Vuong DinhHue.

Hue said that during the session, which will conclude onMarch 20, the NA Standing Committee will prepare important contents for thelegislature’s 5th plenary session.

Specifically, the NA Standing Committee will give opinions onthe draft Price Law (amended), the draft Law on Bidding (amended), and thedraft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on PublicSecurity, the draft Law on Water Resources (revised), the draft Law on theManagement and Protection of Defencee Works and Military Zones, and the Law onHousing (revised); and comments on the explanation, acquisition and amendment ofthe draft revised Cooperative Law.

Full-time lawmakers will comment on a proposal to include the draftLaw on Citizenship Identity (amended) and the draft revised Law on CreditInstitutions in the 2023 Law and Ordinance Building Programme.

Regarding socio-economic issues, the NA Standing Committeewill discuss the adjustment of investment in Ka Pet reservoir project in HamThuan Nam district in the south central province of Binh Thuan.

It will consider the legislature's report on the people's aspiration workin March, and consider and approve the appointment of ambassadors of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad.

A question and answer session will be held on March 20 andbroadcast live on TV and radio channels. The Chief Justice of the Supreme People'sCourt and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy will takethe floor to answer questions, while the Minister of Public Security, and the Minister of Justice, and the Government Inspector General will give explanations on relatedissues.

After the opening session, under the chair of NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai,the NA Standing Committee discussed a number of major issues with differentopinions of the draft revised Law on Price./.
