The 2010 National Beach Volleyball Tournament No1 began on May 13 in the central province of Quang Ngai to acknowledge the 120 th birthday of the late President Ho Chi Minh and the 1000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
The event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and Quang Ngai’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to compete for PV Gas Cup (PetroVietnam Low Pressure Gas Distribution Company).
Tanking part in the two-day event are 70 athletes from 22 men’s and women’s teams across the country including Quang Nam, the Fourth Army Corps, Khanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Tan Binh, Tanimex, Hong Bang University (Ho Chi Minh City) and the host, Quang Ngai province.
The teams were divided into four groups and the best two in each group will compete in the quarterfinals, with the winners going on to the semi-finals and the final.
The National Beach Volleyball Tournaments Numbers 2 and 3 will be held in the coastal provinced of Khanh Hoa and Ba Ria-Vung Tau by the end of this year./.
