Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad hosted numerous activities to mark Vietnam’s 71st National Day.

The celebration at the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, saw the presence of Thai Deputy Prime Minister Thanasak Patimaprakorn, former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bhichai Rattakul who signed the agreement to establish Thailand-Vietnam diplomatic relations in 1976, and Chairman of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association Prachuab Chaiyasan.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Tat Thanh looked back at the journey of the Vietnamese people to safeguard national independence and freedom and develop the country since President Ho Chi Minh delivered the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945.

He emphasised Vietnam’s aspiration to promote cooperative ties with Thailand across the fields.

Vietnamese communities in Thailand also organised ceremonies on the occasion.

In Algeria, many overseas Vietnamese gathered at the Vietnamese Embassy on September 4 to mark the anniversary.-VNA
