The ninth national radio broadcasting festival opened on June 8 in Hanoi in the presence of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.
The festival, which will run until June 10, is aimed at welcoming the Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism Day (June 21) and the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Addressing the opening ceremony, deputy director general of Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) Hoang Minh Nguyet, who is also head of the organising board, said the festival has attracted the participation of 83 radio stations nationwide with 251 well-produced entries exploring different social issues.
This year, the area of live broadcasting has drawn over 30 units attending, she said, adding that the ninth festival brings a new type of presentation that is general broadcasting, the most popular product that combines reportages, interviews, radio stories and live broadcasting.
At the ceremony, NA Chaiman Trong and VOV’s director general Vu Van Hien presented commemorative flags for the participants.
As part of the festival, three symposiums on information-technology, live broadcasting, radio stories and plays will take place on June 9./.
