The Thai Tourism Authority (TAT) has launched “Yours Connect”, a new app that will help travellers to find anywhere they want to go in the country with just couple taps in their mobile device.
This application acts like a personal tour guide with dozens of recommended places stored inside including the best restaurants, accommodations, shops, and tourist spots. Travellers have no longer to worry about getting lost in Thailand or finding a guidebook to take them to the best places as the app is developed to assist them in planning routes to go anywhere or search for new places in Thailand.
“Yours Connect” is considered to be TAT’s first personalised e-travel magazine. It is the first digital media project that will be targeted at the growing numbers of foreign and domestic visitors using mobile devices, TAT deputy governor for policy and planning Santi Chudintha said.
In recent years, TAT has developed aggressive online and digital marketing strategies to promote tourism via all forms of media and all devices such as mobile phones, smartphones, and tablets. These have been designed to reach specific target tourists worldwide, especially young holidaymakers.
Social media networks are playing an increasingly important role in the tourism sector. The Internet has changed people’s behaviours a lot, including the way they buy their tourism products, the destinations they choose, the amount of time and money they spend on travelling.
This new application is also another step in the campaign to promote the country as a regional destination to international visitors before the integration of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) late next year.-VNA
