The Executive Board of the Vietnamese Writers’ Association has nominated a literature work entitled “Cho tôi xin một vé đi tuổi thơ” or “Give me a ticket to childhood” by renown writer Nguyen Nhat Anh for the 2010 ASEAN Literature Award.
The novel, wittily combining the wonderful and vivid childhood memory and the real life of adults, has won critical acclaim of local writers and critics. It received an award from the Vietnamese Writers’ Association in 2009.
The ASEAN Literature Award, introduced in 1979 by the Thai Royal Family, aims to honour ASEAN’s popular writers and poets.
Since 1996, the award has honoured 13 Vietnamese writers, namely To Huu, Ma Van Khanh, Huu Thinh Nguyen Khai, Nguyen Duc Mau, Nguyen Kien, Bang Viet, Do Chu, Phu Tram, Le Van Thao, Tran Van Tuan, Nguyen Ngoc Tu and Cao Duy Son./.
