Nguyen Thi That ofVietnam has won the final stage and the cup at the National Women’s Open CyclingTournament for An Giang Television Cup.

As the race ended in Long Xuyen city, theMekong Delta province of An Giang, on July 13, That of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi AnGiang team marked her victory, surpassing Kim Hyunji and Jang Sujian Seonjinfrom the Republic of Korea’s Seoul Cycling Team, who were at the second andthird place respectively.

In terms of teamwork accomplishment, theSeoul Cycling Team came first, followed by Gao Hat Ngoc Troi and Biwase BinhDuong of Vietnam.

The tournament began on July 8, attractingthe participation of 55 cyclists from 11 domestic and foreign teams.

The bicycle race consisted of six stagesstretching 450 km through cities and provinces, such as Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh,Vinh Long, Tien Giang and Hau Giang.

According to Nguyen Khanh Hiep, deputy headof the An Giang Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and of the race’sorganising board, the new thing this year was the presence of more foreigncyclists in local teams.

The tournament provides a good opportunityfor female Vietnamese cyclists to hone their skills and gain experience for theupcoming SEA Games 29 in Malaysia next month, he said.-VNA
