Nguyen Xuan Phuc elected as State President of Vietnam
Politburo member Nguyen Xuan Phuc was elected as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the 11th session of the 14th National Assembly on April 5 in Hanoi.
The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on April 2 presented to the NA a proposal on relieving Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong from the post of State President.
Legislators of the 14th National Assembly (NA) on April 2 discussed a candidate list for the position of the State President in the 2021-2026 tenure as part of its ongoing 11th session in Hanoi.
In the last working week from April 5-8, the 11th session of the 14th National Assembly will focus on finishing the personnel work for the State, NA and the Government.
