A concert of Scandinavian music will be performed by the VietnamNational Symphony and Orchestra (VNSO) with guest artists from Japanthis week.
The VNSO's subscription concert will feature master pieces of Danish composer Carl Nielsen and Finnish composer Jean Siberius.
Performing with the VNSO for the first time, Japanese conductor YasuoShinozaki and violinist Takagi Kazuhiro will play Aladdin Suite; ViolinConcerto and Symphony No 2.
Conductor Yasuo Shinozaki hasacquired a truly international reputation for his emotionally directstyle of music making and his musical knowledge. He first emerged on theinternational scene in Finland , winning the Second InternationalSibelius Conducting Competition in 2000.
ViolinistKazuhiro Takagi has been very widely recognised in Japan , winning theNational Arts Festival's New Artist Award sponsored, the Osaka CulturalFestival's Grand Prize in 2005 and the Recorded Work Award at the 19thMusic Pen Club Japan in 2007.
As an active soloist, hehas played with a number of domestic and overseas orchestras includingOsaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, andWuerttembergische Philfarmonie Reutlingen in Germany .
The two-night concert will start at 8pm on Mar. 23 and 24 at the Hanoi Opera House.-VNA
