Nung minority girl crowned Miss Ethnic

Trieu Thi Ha, a girl from Nung ethnic minority group, has been crowned Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2011.
Trieu Thi Ha, a girl from Nung ethnic minority group, outperform 60 other beauties to crown Miss Ethnic Vietnam 2011 in the final round in Ho Chi Minh City on Dec. 10.

The 19-year-old girl from the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang was awarded a cash prize of 100 million VND and many valuable gifts.

The first runner-up title went to Pham Thi Thanh Tuyen from Kinh ethnic group, while Son Thi Du Ra from Khmer ethnic group took the second runner-up title.

The final round of the beauty contest featured performances of traditional costumes, swimsuits and evening gowns and question-answer round.

The beauty pageant, the second of its kind in Vietnam , was co-organised by the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs and the International Advertising and Trade Fair JSC (CIAT).

The event was designed to honour the beauty of Vietnamese women and promote solidarity among 54 ethnic groups./.
