As many as 12,320 people will participate in the celebration of the1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi slated for October 10.
At a meeting on preparations for the anniversary inHanoi on July 20, Nguyen Dinh Lan, Deputy Director of the HanoiDepartment of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said a total of 8,000 peoplewill join the mass parade, and 1,000 children will release balloons anddoves while a drum and gong performance will be staged by 1,000 others.
Vice chairwoman of the Hanoi municipal People’sCommittee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, who is also deputy head of the organisingboard of meetings and parades asked districts, departments and agenciesto mobilize the public’s participation and make plan for cultural andsports activities to serve people as well as visitors during thecelebration.
The Hanoi Department of Constructionis responsible for ensuring environmental hygiene, lighting anddecoration of streets and public areas that host important events,especially Ba Dinh square, she said.
Themunicipal Industry and Trade Department needs to increase the provisionof food and advertising of several products that embody outstandingcultures of Thang Long-Hanoi as well as services for visitors, sheadded./.
