Hanoi (VNA) – The 12th-tenure Communist Party of Vietnam(CPV) Central Committee convened its seventh plenary session in Hanoi on May 7,under the chair of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

At the beginning of the morning session, the Party CentralCommittee approved the session’s working agenda.

Main issues on the agenda of the six-day sitting include thepersonnel work at all levels, especially at strategic level, salary reform forofficials, public servants, the armed forces, and workers, and social insurancepolicy reform, among others.

In his opening remarks, Party General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong noted the importance of the meeting, which takes place at the middle ofthe 12th tenure in the context of good development of the country andnew opportunities for the renewal cause.

He asked the Party Central Committee to uphold their responsibilityand study carefully submitted reports and projects in order to make qualitycontributions to documents to be passed at the end of the session.-VNA

During a visit to the press centre amid a break in proceedings, PM Pham Minh Chinh met with reporters and inquired about their working conditions.
