A senior Party official has urged the Economic Commission of the Party Central Committee (PCC) to pinpoint and research socio-economic issues of strategic importance to help the Party in drafting directions and policies on socio-economic development.
Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and permanent member of the PCC Secretariat, made the request at the commission’s conference in Hanoi on July 23 to see through the tasks set for the remaining months of this year.
He said the commission has the heavy task of researching and advising the PCC, the Politburo and the PCC Secretariat on the country’s socio-economic development, particularly on the growth model and restructuring of the economy for sustainable and rapid development, thus improving people’s living standards.
Just six months in operation, the commission has strived to fulfil its tasks in assessing socio-economic projects and making suggestions and proposals to the Party and State in policy making.
The agency has also established a mechanism for coordinating with research and training establishments and engaged socio-economic experts nationwide to serve its operation.
In the remaining months of this year, the commission will work out a report on the implementation of the 11 th Party Congress’ resolution on socio-economic development over the past two years and a half.
It will also review five years of implementing the resolution of the 10th Party Central Committee’s sixth plenum on continuing to perfect the socialist-oriented market economy.
On this basis, the commission is to propose main orientations and measures to successfully implement the Party’s resolutions and directives.-VNA
